Waterton Lake Trip_August long weekend 2011

7::30am meet at Heritage C-Train station.
8:00am meet another group of people at Bridlewood.
Then drive 3 hours to Waterton Lake. (Entrance fee: $19/car)

About 12:00am, parking beside the lake, 1000 meters ahead pass the town center. (It is difficult to find the parking in town center.)
Lunch beside the lake, sunny, and great view. (That day is a little bit windy.)

Then, hiking along the lake to town center. Take pictures, chat…
1:30pm Rent a bike (it can contain two adults, plus two small children.) ride to everywhere.
$25/hour for rent.

2:30pm return the the bike, everybody is exciting.
Then drive to Cameron Lake, three things you can do there. Fishing, boating, hiking and watches bears.

We chose hiking along the lake, 6 km (round). The hiking trial is ended at the boarder of US. There is chance to see bears there. But we see nothing this time. Took a picture at the end. Then come back to the start at about 6:00pm.
6:30pm is just our schedule to back to Calgary. We delayed a little bit. But still arrive to Calgary at about 9:30pm.
Relax, comfortable trip!

Something else you can do:
1. Take the cruise to US side (About $104 for two adults and one child), hiking a little well, take a picture. Then take the ship back. (No need passport).

2. Hiking to US side, then take the Cruise back. But need passport. (Never try, so I don’t know if you can only pay half of the price for Cruise or free.)

3. Take a trip to Red Rock Canyon. As the name, the whole valley’s rocks are red color.

4. Wild life hiking, you have more chance to see the wild life. But you need hire a Guider. Otherwise, you will probably become the lunch of bear.

* A black bear showed up behind me less than two meters when I was watching this water falls in 2006. ( Bear Spray is suggested, about $30 in Canadian Tire.)
