I have an 98 Chevy Malibu.
Very powerful. easy to drive. but after replaced the serpentine belt, it gets noisy. I guess there're maybe two possible: 1. the belt is installed not alignment. 2. one of the polly has problem, for example: bearing cracked.
I asked several mechanics, they all say busy. finally I got contact with Mr. Liu Yong Chang. He figure out an appointment at the same day. After I arrived there. He check the noisy, then spray some oil on the belt. then the noisy is gone.
Later, he told me: there maybe some dirt in the system. and you didn't clean it when you install the new belt. I just washed it for you. hopefully you're lucky. Otherwise, come back, then I will change the tensioner for you. Today is free!
On the way back to home. the noise came back again. I clean the whole thing again, put soap on the belt. nothing help. Finally, have to go to Canadian Tire to order a Tensioner assembly. (continue)
